Life Form Development

This is my life form developed design, for this I scanned a rough drawing in, then painted it digitally. I used the scissors from the list of objects that we were given to work with to create this. I made her rough and unattractive because I am used to designing pretty characters and so, wanted to do something different, plus I thought the deformity of the shape and scissors would make it interesting and I gave her an angular, pointed nose and elbows to represent the sharpness of scissors. Admittedly I didn't spend as much time on the front and back view as I did the side view.

  1. Hey Rhianna,

Welcome to the CGAA bloggosphere - and it's nice to see your summer project work on here; this character looks rather spiteful and witchy! Just a bit of advice re. blog template and font etc. At the moment, the business of the template and the fine white text + brown text just means that actually your text is a bit tricky to read; maybe consider going for a plain background, so that your work and your words are always the focus and always accessible to the visitor :)

  2. Hi Rhianna! Welcome to CGAA. I'm Joey and about to head into third year. These are really cool designs! Can't wait to see your new thumbnail sketches!

If you need help with anything, feel free to ask me on my blog: Looking forward to meet you! :D

  3. Hey Rhianna, I'd like to let you know that I'm your mentor, so if you need help with anything in particular feel free to E-mail me at or just leave me a comment on my blog here : .
Remember to keep active, post as much as you can it's amazing the amount of feedback you will get on here, so never be afraid to post your work.
I agree with Phil's comment, I'm finding it quiet difficult to read the text because of the background, so it might be best to go for a plain background, or if you mess with the templates you may find one that can put a white banner behind you're posts, like mine does. Give it a go I'm sure you can do it :)
I'm really looking forward to seeing your thumbnails and finals for this project and the rest to come :)
